Sox No-Hit!
Another tough
loss 13-1 vs. SD Erosion Control puts us at 4-6
for the season and scrambling for a playoff spot.
Congratulations to SDEC on another outstanding
defensive game and pitching effort. No question
they have been the better team in our two games
with them this season.
Highlights:
Three players reached base 2 of 3 at-bats: Phil,
Dan, Jonathan. In all, we managed 9 free passes.
Jonathan pitched well the last 2 1/3 innings,
stalling a rally with a timely K and giving up
two runs.
Lowlights:
Hitting - we were no-hit for 7 innings. We had
six (6) strikeouts. To our credit, we hit the
ball at times, but either right at SDEC players
or they made excellent plays in the field.
Pitching - we gave too many free passes with 7
walks and 2 hit batters.
Defense - once again, we made too many errors.
We were especially hurt in the 4 (unearned) run
fourth inning when we had two big errors that
should have ended the inning before they started
scoring.
Looking Forward:
Let's plan on hitting the batting cages Saturday
morning at 9:30 am. http://www.mvpbaseballacademy.com.
Let me know if you are available to play, I'll
get as much cage time as we need.
